About this concert:

The Codex Quartet presents an innovative take on the standard guitar quartet program for the Melbourne Guitar Festival.

Featuring original arrangements for guitar quartet by Evan Hopkins, this novel program presents a collection of works from one of the most critically and commercially successful rock bands of the past half-century, Radiohead.

These arrangements highlight the innovations and surprises that Radiohead feature in their music while managing to maintain accessible song-writing structures. By attempting to imitate the studio production techniques that Radiohead utilises, these arrangements make full and innovative use of the guitar quartet’s capabilities.

From the beautiful melodies of No Surprises, or the rock textures of 2+2=5, to the electronic soundscapes of Everything in its Right Place, this program shows an unheard side of the guitar quartet.
