IMPORTANT COVID-19 NOTICE

Due to public health concerns, live events have been cancelled all across the world.

In fact, the entire 2020 concert season for the Melbourne Guitar Festival is now shut down.

The Melbourne Guitar Festival is my only income, as my wife Amy is not working due to our 7 month old baby.

Our year has been thrown into financial disarray.

Many artists and event organisers will now be out of work for an unknown period of time.

If you wish to purchase a ticket to view the this exclusive digital concert, please know that you will be greatly helping support the artists involved and also my work with the Melbourne Guitar Festival.

Thank you for your support and understanding during these difficult times.

All proceeds will be split 50:50 between the artists and the Melbourne Guitar Festival.

Andrea is a shining star on the international stage. Her fearless interpretations of classic Spanish repertoire is at the heart of her program. Evocative and boundless performances matched by an effortless technique. She is a true champion of the guitar and what music represents
– Michael MacManus, Melbourne Guitar Festival

This concert will explore classic Spanish repertoire, from the greatly loved op. 47 by Isaac Albeniz which features favourites such as Asturias and Sevilla, to the great Fernando Sor and his magical introduction and variations on a theme of Mozart.

Joaquín Clerch’s evocative Spring Preludes which pay hommage to Francisco Tarrega, are beautifully captured by Andrea, no doubt benefited by her time studying under Joaquin during her Bachelor and Master performance degrees. These Spring Preludes were also part of her program during her winning performance at the XIII Alhambra International Guitar Competition.

Be fully transported to the streets of Spain with typical flamenco rhythms in the Rondeña by Sainz de la Maza and witness Andrea’s technical prowess and commanding stage prescence with some of the most demanding pieces in the guitar repertoire, Rodrigo’s powerful Tres Piezas Españolas.
